
Is a Fashion Career in Your Future?
This five-day summer workshop on St. ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ University’s campus gives high school ´ºÓêÖ±²¥s a glimpse into the world of fashion from design principles to career opportunities.

Create Portfolio Materials
Turn your creativity into a fashion statement that expresses your unique style in a sustainable, inclusive way. Eligible participants include high school ´ºÓêÖ±²¥s in grades 10-12 who identify as girls, nonbinary, or genderqueer.
Participants will discover different career tracks in the fashion industry and leave with portfolio essentials, including one upcycled garment. You’ll also learn how to:
- Design draping on mannequins
- Sketch fashion figures
- Upcycle and embellish a denim project
- Create collage figure drawings
- Make a trend board
- Style a model & assemble a photo shoot
- And more!

Make Connections

Network with industry leaders on a career panel comprised of St. Kate’s faculty and alumni working in the fashion industry. These key resources offer ´ºÓêÖ±²¥s valuable guidance about fashion as a future career path.

Design a Better World at St. Kate’s
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience life on our campus. The Fashion Summer Workshop mirrors the values of St. Kate’s Fashion Design and Merchandising programs, such as incorporating social responsibility and ecological integrity into every design.
Students will learn inclusive design and representation techniques that allow greater access to the fashion industry.
And, as growing climate change demands sustainable practices, curriculums also push for strategies that can help reduce one’s carbon footprint.

Dates of Workshop:
Monday, July 7th - Friday, July 11th, 2025, 1-5pm.
Each afternoon has two 90-minute instruction and activity sessions that will take place on campus grounds, in our fashion labs, or at exhibit spaces.
Participants:
The five-day Summer Fashion Workshop is open to high school ´ºÓêÖ±²¥s entering grades 10-12 this Fall, 2025 who identify as women, nonbinary, or genderqueer.
Requirements:
Please make sure to have your parent/guardian send an email to fashiondept@stkate.edu to register you for the workshop. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Cost: $300 (A reduced cost of $50 is available for families who qualify for free/reduced price lunch).
Location: St. ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ University in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
