St. 春雨直播 University鈥檚 Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Marie Joan Harris, CSJ, PhD, to the Board. She brings decades of experience and expertise from the fields of business, education, healthcare, law, religion, and civic life. Before her retirement in 2015, Harris dedicated 45 years to Avila University in Kansas City. During 17 of those years, she taught chemistry and chaired the Department of Natural Science and Mathematics. Her long tenure at Avila also included serving in the key administrative roles of vice president, dean of academic affairs, and provost and vice president of academic affairs. Her multi-decade career encompasses a dedication to serving her community and furthering education.
Harris鈥 commitment to service and education extends beyond her academic career. She currently serves as a trustee or officer for several organizations, including Avila University, Journey to New Life, and St. Joseph Educational Ministries. Her past board service includes various hospital, university, and secondary school boards. Additionally, she was a part-time member of the leadership group for the St. Louis Province of the Congregation of St. Joseph (CSJ) for a decade.
Harris holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in chemistry from Fontbonne College in St. Louis and a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of Kansas.
